Grindline Skateparks, Inc. one of the top designers
and builders of skateparks throughout the United States
will design and build the skatepark. The Skatepark
Committee spent months evaluating and interviewing
skatepark designers and chose Grindline because of their
reputation for excellence and the fact that they both
design and build skateparks. Grindline employees are known
to skate the park as it is being built, testing the flow of
the park before it is too late to adjust the design and
making sure the concrete is poured “just
right.” Grindline has designed and built over 75
skateparks throughout the United States. More information
about Grindline is available at
www.grindline.com.
There are two phases to the skatepark development:
design and construction. In the design phase, Grindline
meets with the Skatepark Committee, the City and the public
to plan the design of the park. Once the design is
completed, Grindline prepares construction-ready plans.
This design phase will cost approximately $32,000.
Depending on the square footage of the park, it will cost
between $600,000 and $750,000 to build. If community
members are willing to donate services (i.e. architect
review, grading, concrete, etc.) the price will go down.
Since Crane Park is owned by the City, there is no cost to
purchase the land.
Through individual donations and fundraising events
by skateboarders, we have raised the funds needed to start
the design process. The rest will be raised through
individual and corporate donations, grants and fundraisers.
We are also seeking in-kind donations to offset the cost of
the project.
