Working together we can fund and build a skatepark at Crane Park. It's an ideal location for a skatepark because it is owned by the City, is highly visible and will meet the recreational needs of our diverse community. When completed the skatepark will be managed by the City of St. Helena.

Tuesday, August 26th, 7PM at Vintage Hall

superkid2
PLEASE ATTEND - This Tuesday, the City Council is being asked to approve the location and size of the Skatepark at Crane Park. With City Council approval now, there is still time to break ground this Fall. We need as many supporters of the Skatepark, young and old, to attend this key meeting and show their support!

If you can't attend but would like to show your support for the Skatepark, feel free to call or email City Council member(s) before the meeting, council@ci.st-helena.ca.us

St. Helena City Council Approves Crane Park Location
New Location2
St. Helena Skatepark was approved for relocation to Crane Park at the May 13th City Council meeting. The original Wappo Park/Pope Street location became prohibitively expensive to develop due to mitigation of cultural resources and Fish and Game requirements. The next step is to present a modified park design to the Planning Commission. With their approval, groundbreaking could begin as early as August.

Skatepark Raises $50,000 in Direct Mail Campaign!
50K-3
The St. Helena Skatepark board of directors continues to be overwhelmed by the incredible generosity of our community. Our recent direct mail campaign raised $50,000. Since fundraising began, we’ve raised over $630,000 of our $750,000 goal. 249 donors have contributed from $10 to $150,000 and we appreciate each and every donation (Professional & Individual). We couldn’t do it without you!

Volunteers remain busy while the City reviews our plans prior to Planning Commission and City Council review. Volunteers include: Jon Webb and Albion Surveys, Inc., Jack Chandler who is working with us and the City to develop the landscape design; Don Westerland of Centric Builders and Andy Simpson of Delta Engineering who are reviewing and fine tuning the construction documents so that we may accommodate the many donations of materials and services offered; and Sue Pillsbury is busy typing thank you letters to all of our generous donors.

If you haven’t donated, but would like to – please contact us at P.O. Box 1, St. Helena or through our Make A Dontation web page. We hope to break ground this spring and look forward to seeing everyone at our opening day ceremony. We’ll be skating and hope you’ll join us by Getting on Board!

We raised $19,000!
Thanks to everyone who attended last night’s fabulous event at Taylor's Automatic Refresher.
Over 500 Skatepark supporters attended!

Keep-It-Fresh
We could not have pulled it off without the support of Taylor’s Automatic Refresher, its staff and Duncan and Joel Gott!! Not only did Taylor’s Automatic Refresher provide us with the perfect venue, great food and friendly staff, it also contributed 10% of the evening’s proceeds to the Skatepark. The Gott brothers then personally matched that amount. Wow!

Maureen Kelly did a tremendous job organizing the event and made sure so many of you were there (and bought raffle tickets). Thanks Maureen.

We raised $19,000. A large part of that money came from our very generous matching donors: Wine Country Inn, Boeschen Vineyards, Del Britton, Erna Schein - Behrens Family Winery, Kathy Carrick, St. Helena Dental Group, Silverado Federal Credit Union, VinelandStation.com, Anomaly Vineyards, Cakebread Cellars, Coombs & Dunlap, LLP, Findings – Maura Wilson Proprietor, Forni-Cartlidge Family, Health Spa Napa Valley, Joanne & Stefan Blicker and Smith’s Pharmacy.

Our raffle was a huge success, thanks to our great prizes. Kudos to St. Helena Cyclery, Heaven & Earth, Corison Winery, Bellezza, Smith’s Pharmacy and Palladium for their generosity.

All of us on the Skatepark Board continue to be moved by the outpouring of support for our Community’s Skatepark Project.

THANK YOU

Help us Break the $500,000 Mark!
We’re getting close… Thanks to a recent $5,000 individual donation, we’ve raised $491,000 to date. If you haven’t made a donation yet, now’s the time. Help us break the $500,000 mark. Send your tax free donation to St. Helena Skatepark, Inc., P.O. Box 1, St. Helena, CA 94574 – or you can donate on-line.

Permit Process is Moving Along
We’re just finishing up Phase II Cultural Resources and Hydrology reports. With those in place, the permitting process will move forward. Lighting, drainage and landscaping plans are in the works as well. Special thanks to the many professionals that continue to donate their services. Our latest donors are: Andy Simpson, Delta Consulting & Engineering (civil engineering); Ernie Heine, Professional Engineer Associates (lighting); Jack Chandler, Chandler & Chandler (landscaping); and Steve Ebersole, Ebersole Construction (billboard).

Save the Date
Join us at the Taylor’s Back to School Skatepark Fundraiser on September 25th, 4:00-8:30 pm. Taylor’s will donate 10% of the evening’s proceeds to the Skatepark. We’ll have a raffle, t-shirt sales and lots of great food. If your business is interested in matching the evening’s proceeds with a corporate donation, please call Denise Smith at 963-8712 or contact us by email. We are looking for business sponsors to match up to $1,000 – it’s a great way to support the Skatepark.

Special thanks
To Alex, Easton, Beau, Alexander, Dominic, Carson, Stephen, Will, Sammy, Kent, Aaron, Douglas, Daphne and Mason for the donations of proceeds at their lemonade and cookie stand.
